Statistics for 2016-17 show that 1,850 babies were born addicted to drugs in Canada, a condition called neonatal abstinence syndrome. Now, a special program in Hamilton is hoping to help these newborns by keeping moms and babies together as they learn to settle into a new drug-free life.
