Take heed that ye refuse not him that speaketh: for if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much less shall we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath spoken, saying, Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, showeth the changing of the things that are spoken movable things, as things made, that the unmovable things may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly devotion. For our God is a consuming fire." He completed his Bachelor's degree in Theology at the Southern Presbyterian Seminary in Campinas, São Paulo, from 1978 to 1981, and his Doctorate in Ministry at the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, in the United States, from 2000 to 2001. He was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Bragança Paulista from 1982 to 1984, and since 1985 he has been pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Vitória. He is also a member of the Evangelical Academy of Letters of Brazil, executive director of Luz para o Caminho in Campinas, and collaborating pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Pinheiros in São Paulo.
