Panasonic HDC-SD900 camcorder, image quality test - example videos

Here are a few example videos taken with the Panasonic HDC-SD900 camcorder. This model has 3 sensors and will take 1080p50 videos at 28Mbps in AVCHD. Most clips are progressive, however some needed de-interlacing to combine them in one video. Other than the volume none of the clips have been altered in any way and are effectively raw files just as they came out of the camera. The built-in microphone was used for recording the audio. Although I have now made the move to 4k video I’m still impressed by the image quality that this camcorder can deliver. It has the benefit of having manual controls for focus and aperture. I have also included examples using the Canon WD-H46 x0.7 wide converter and the JVC GL-V1843 x1.8 tele converter. The Panasonic SD900 has an equivalent zoom range of 35-420mm but when combined with these converters it can give you a range of 25-756mm. It also has intelizoom which further increases its zoom range from x12 to x20. I have split the video in to three sections: Part 1 - optical zoom range.
