Can a NON MINECRAFT FAN Rewrite A Minecraft Movie? - A Minecraft Movie Review, Analysis and Rewrite!

Well A Minecraft Movie just came out yesterday so you can expect a ton of Minecraft review videos from all the big name movie guys and likely some from major fans of the original game as well. And then here I am in the middle, not a bit critic nor a big fan, just a lover of good films. And while I went in with as open a mind as possible......I honestly felt like a lot of potential was lost here. There are some good bits, like Jack Black as Steve was a genuine highlight even if I Am Steve and Jack Black Names Things were both memes that kinda made a mockery of his casting choice. Jason Momoa as Garrett the Garbage Man Garrison was surprisingly fun and funny. And there are definitely a ton of Minecraft references for big fans to sink their teeth into. Villagers, diamond armor, iron golem, enderman, creepers, flint and steel, chicken jockey you name it they probably have it. But everything else was pretty lame, including the other characters and the sheer lack or creativity in some aspects. I expected to see some cool minecraft builds brought to life in 3d but Warner Brothers kinda just did the bare minimum and that's it. I personally didn't care much for this movie but I did see potential in it, so much so that I attached a little rewrite/reimagining at the end to prove that a concept like this could work really well! Either way, hope you enjoy the video and remember, likes and comments are always appreciated! P.S - Of course with Jack Black in the lead they had to capitalize on his singing a little bit and he killed it with both the Steve's lava chicken song and the Dennis song. X) P.S.S - No I haven't seen Looney Tunes the Day the Earth Blew Up yet. It wasn't playing in any theaters near me yet so sorry I'm not reviewing that today. P.S.S.S - If you genuinely like the movie, you're free to tell me why. I know art is subjective and this art just didn't do it for me. Even though I could tell they were kinda trying with stuff like the comedy. I imagine this would be more fun with friends to riff on it with. X) Heck, people were already meme-ing on the trailer before it even came out. P.S.S.S.S - Yes the realistic textures on things like the sheep and the villagers are weird, but you get used to it after a while.
