Andrea Johnshon, Madlanga Commission: Another unexpected development has unfolded at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. Just hours before she was due to testify, Advocate Andrea Johnson, Head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), was reportedly admitted to hospital and booked off sick from 13 July to 15 July. Her appearance was expected to address allegations raised before the commission, including claims that confidential information relating to Brigadier Leonora Phetle's criminal complaint was allegedly shared with General Feroz Khan before he had been formally interviewed by investigators. Those allegations were aired during commission proceedings and have not been proven in court. Her absence follows several other high-profile witnesses who have recently been unable to testify due to medical reasons, including businessman Suliman Carrim, businessman Mike van Wyk, and General Feroz Khan.
