An authentic adventure, a motorcycle trip through Tuscany, without a set destination, without deciding whether the road beneath our wheels would be asphalt or dirt, in total freedom since we had our tent and sleeping bag with us. Sharing this experience with me was Mitzi, our Austrian correspondent, a lover of travel, Italian cuisine, and good wine. In my native Tuscany, I was playing on home turf, and enchanting her with our "delicacies" would have been child's play. What worried me a lot was that I'd have to be the "ballast boy" with Mitzi driving.
