High-Yield Rad Bio: OER, LET, & RBE
Oxygen enhancement ratio (OER), linear energy transfer (LET), and relative biological effectiveness (RBE) are important radiobiology topics which are frequently tested. Understanding their definitions, how they vary with different types and energies of radiation, and how they relate to each other is crucial to building a foundational understanding of how radiation therapy works. In this talk, we define OER, LET, and RBE and discuss various factors that affect each. This presentation is created purely for educational purposes and does NOT constitute medical advice. If there are any errors or questions/concerns, we welcome comments and discussion!
