Juan Castillo en la OIT: el futuro del trabajo, la IA y la defensa del trabajo decente
At the 114th International Labour Conference, Juan Castillo addressed the International Labour Organization on the central challenges facing the world of work in a context of profound technological, social, and political transformations. From the expansion of artificial intelligence and the platform economy to the need for democratic governance of technological change, Castillo argued that the future of work will not be defined solely by innovation, but also by the political and social decisions made by states, employers, and workers. His speech highlighted the value of social dialogue, collective bargaining, and tripartism as current and strategic tools, championed Uruguay's experience in trade union freedoms, and placed at the forefront the defense of decent work, gender equality, and social justice as essential foundations for lasting peace and sustainable development.
