A Cool Vintage Watch for less than 150 Euros | Seiko Type II

I bought on eBay for only 130€ this Seiko Type II watch from 1978. Isn't it beautiful? Linen dial, 70s Gerald Gentaesque brutalist bracelet, English-Kanji day-date complication, got everything it needs to be a respectful vintage piece, yet with an affordable price tag. Ah, all right, all right you purists out there: yes, it is indeed quartz. What's wrong with that? Nothing, in my opinion. A vintage quartz watch is just a sign of the times, an icon from that quartz crisis era. The idea of buying a vintage Seiko quartz started from a recent trip to Japan, one of my most beloved countries. Seiko, one of my favourite watch brands, is so quintessential Japanese. An impulsive thrust into the future with an eye that looks back at the past. Just like Tokyo: so modern in his buildings and electronics, but also so deeply rooted in its ancient cultural traditions. Seiko is both - modern and antique.
