Three (Formerly) Blind Mice: Reprogramming Tissues to Be Young Again
Air date: Tuesday, February 9, 2021, 3:00PM Category: WALS - Wednesday Afternoon Lectures Duration: 01 :00 :28 NIH Director’s Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series - Dr. Sinclair is a professor of genetics, Blavatnik Institute, and co-director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for Biology of Aging Research, at Harvard Medical School. His lab seeks to understand why we age and whether we can extend human health and longevity. The Sinclair laboratory has demonstrated that it is possible to epigenetically reprogram cells to safely reverse aging in vivo and regain eyesight. This research, conducted with support from the National Institute on Aging and National Eye Institute, was recently published in Nature (PMID: 33268865; doi: 10.1038/s41586-020-2975-4) and will be the subject of this special Tuesday WALS lecture.
