Create a Parametric Bolt Family in Revit
In this tutorial, we model a fully parametric bolt family in Revit from scratch. We define key parameters such as Diameter, Height, Head Height, and Head Thickness, and link them with formulas for full control and flexibility. The bolt shaft is created using Extrusion, while the thread is developed using a Swept Blend with a controlled radius. We also refine the geometry by adjusting profiles in different views for accuracy. The bolt head is modeled using a combination of Extrusion and Revolve, giving a more realistic and precise shape. Additional details like the top groove are added, and Void Revolve is used to cut the lower part of the model for better form.
