Their mission is to prevent Hawk Moth, a villain who wants to steal their Talismans, from wreaking havoc on the city by creating increasingly dangerous supervillains, all while keeping their identities a secret. At school, Marinette has a crush on Adrien, but she can't tell him, so she's always clumsy around him. As a superhero, Cat Noir, he loves Ladybug, but his ego only irritates her: Marinette's heart belongs to Adrien anyway! Throughout the school year and many adventures, Ladybug discovers many good qualities in Cat Noir, while Marinette grows closer to Adrien, making great efforts to overcome her shyness.
