Warehouse Location Problem: “ThreadVibe” Sustainable Streetwear Expansion ThreadVibe is a fast-growing Gen-Z sustainable streetwear brand (think eco-friendly hoodies, graphic tees, and joggers sold online). They currently ship everything from one Atlanta warehouse, but demand has exploded across the Southeast. They are considering opening up to 5 new regional centers (Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando, Nashville, Birmingham). Each warehouse has a fixed annual opening cost (lease, staffing, utilities). Goal: Decide which warehouses to open and how much to ship from each to each market so that total cost = fixed opening costs + transportation costs is minimized, while meeting every market’s demand.
