Although this project started as a finish selection and interior design service, it grew to revising the architectural plans for this final result, improving functionality and scale. Procurement and design of Millwork/managing the gaps was a new experience since we usually provide the labor and deliver the concept through completion. Once the interior furnishing plan was set, I was working through coordinating the design execution from the final proposed furniture plan with the contractor to complete the project. We worked with the client to achieve their vision, from finish selections to builtin designs in a contemporary style suited for an open floor plan. Beautiful lighter wood flooring throughout (PID) paired perfectly with great area rugs from Stark and Tufenkian. A warm mixture of whites for the color palette, and contrasting color in the kitchen cabinetry for the seated peninsula and including the pendants was a great way to define the different areas of the open space and yet be interactive. Mixed porcelain with select marble mosaics for focus feature walls and custom vanities for all baths with custom vanities. Quartz material selected from Silestone and Caesarstone for the kitchen and baths, saddles and all Builtin cover tops. A larger kitchen was custom designed for both function and entertaining at its best! Including a Tall wine refrigerator for their collection. In spite of the challenges, it’s beautiful!! It was not the process we normally provide (all inclusive) which resulted in a completion timeline almost twice as long!!
