For centuries, the Psalms have taught people how to present themselves before God with the truth about themselves. They don't hide human emotions—they contain joy and delight, but also fear, loneliness, anger, a sense of injustice, and despair. This makes them a mirror of the soul, where we can recognize our own experiences and discover that God is present even where we feel most dark. In a conversation with Małgorzata Madej from the Prodoteo Foundation, I discuss why the Psalms are incredibly relevant today. We discuss psalmotherapy—a path that helps us not only better understand the biblical text, but above all, better understand ourselves. Because healing begins where we have the courage to name our feelings and bring them before God.
