Monday Night Raw from Chicago took an unexpected turn when Cody Rhodes was attacked by Gunther before his scheduled World Heavyweight Championship match against Sami Zayn. WWE then replaced main event featuring CM Punk instead, and with the Chicago crowd behind him, Punk captured the championship. I completely understand why WWE made the change. Chicago is CM Punk's hometown, and the moment delivered exactly the kind of reaction the company was looking for. From a business perspective, it made sense. That said, I can't help but feel disappointed for Sami Zayn. His championship reign had so much potential, and I would have loved to see it continue a little longer before passing the torch.
