How to Terminate a 25 Pair 1A Distribution Connector - The TSOC™ Minute (ep. 17)
How to Terminate a 25 Pair 1A Distribution Connector Materials Required: TMBX-1A: 25 Pair 1A Distribution Connector (5 Pair Markings) PTBX-16A-BL: Impact Termination Tool Needle Nose Pliers MST-502: Cable Prep Tool TMBX-4POSN: 100 Pair Distribution Frame TF-4IV: 4" Nylon Cable Ties TMBX-DSWH-EA: Designation Strip (White) TMBX-DLBL-EA: Designation Label (Blue) FT4-25PC3GY: 25 Pair CAT 3 UTP Solid Cable (Grey) Step 1: Cut the specified length of 25 Pair CAT 3 UTP Solid Cable (FT4-25PC3GY) and score the jacket using the Cable Prep Tool (MST-502). Squeeze handles of the Cable Prep Tool gently and turn in both directions. Step 2: The 25 Pair Cable will be scored. Remove the jacket exposing the 50 insulated conductors and the nylon thread pull string. Use the Needle Nose Pliers to pull the string stripping the jacket the required length and trim the Cable where scored. Step 3: Place Nylon Cable Ties into the designated slots of the 25 Pair Distribution Connector (TMBX-1A). Place the exposed 25 Pair Cable along the top of the BIX Connector with the 5 pair markings starting from the left side and secure the Cable Ties. Step 4: Install the Distribution Connector into the required position of the 100 Pair Distribution Frame (TMBX-4POSN). Separate each pair of the 25 Pair Cable and lace into the Distribution Connector according to the required wiring code. Use the Impact Termination Tool (PTBX-16A-BL) to punch down and cut one insulated conductor at a time. Step 5: Remove the Distribution Connector to inspect that all insulated conductors are terminated to the (IDC) Insulated Displacement Connectors. Insert the Distribution Connector into the Distribution Frame with the terminated Cable side down. Step 6: Place the required Designation Label (TMBX-DLBL-EA) onto the Designation Strip (TMBX-DSWH-EA) and install into the appropriate position of the Distribution Frame.
