If not, medical intervention may be necessary. *Symptoms of Undescended Testicles* The primary symptom of undescended testicles is the absence of one or both testicles in the scrotum. It’s often discovered during a routine physical examination shortly after birth. In some cases, the condition might not be apparent until later, especially if only one testicle is affected. Symptoms might include: An empty scrotum A smaller or less developed scrotum Asymmetrical appearance of the scrotum *Causes of Undescended Testicles* The exact cause of undescended testicles is often unknown, but several factors can contribute: Genetics: Family history of the condition can increase the risk. Premature Birth: Infants born before the 37th week of pregnancy are more likely to have undescended testicles. Hormonal Imbalances: Hormonal issues during pregnancy can affect the development and descent of the testicles. Maternal Health: Conditions such as diabetes, obesity, or exposure to certain chemicals during pregnancy might increase the risk. *Treatment for Undescended Testicles* Early treatment is crucial to prevent complications such as infertility or an increased risk of testicular cancer. Treatment options include: Watchful Waiting: In many cases, the testicles descend on their own within the first six months. Regular check-ups are necessary to monitor progress. Hormone Therapy: Hormonal injections can stimulate the descent of the testicles. Surgery (Orchiopexy): This is the most common and effective treatment.
