In this video, I'll show you how to easily remove them with the right settings! Do you know that frustrating feeling when you've printed a beautiful model, but the support structures just won't come off properly? Often, half the part breaks, the underside looks messy, or you even injure yourself on the sharp plastic edges. It doesn't have to be this way! In this episode of Slicer Saturday, I'll explain in under 5 minutes how to solve this problem by correctly adjusting the upper Z-axis distance. We'll delve deep into the slicer settings and look at why the default distance is often insufficient. I'll show you the "sweet spot" of 0.25 mm, which usually makes removing supports wonderfully easy without the filament sagging. You'll also learn how to use special online tests to determine the perfect value for your specific material (such as PLA or PETG). As a special highlight, there's a bonus tip for everyone with a multi-material system or two nozzles: the combination of PLA and PETG. Since these materials don't chemically bond together, you can set the Z-distance to 0.0 mm and get a perfectly supported, smooth surface that separates effortlessly.
