[Anchor] KBS Changwon conducted its third opinion poll to gauge voter sentiment one day before the ban on opinion polls for the June 3 local elections goes into effect. The trend of Democratic Party candidate Song Soon-ho leading People Power Party candidate Kang Ki-yoon outside the margin of error continued to be observed. Reporter Lee Dae-wan reports. [Report] We asked which candidate voters support in this Changwon mayoral election. Democratic Party candidate Song Soon-ho received 43%, while People Power Party candidate Kang Ki-yoon received 33%, with Candidate Song leading outside the margin of error. Reform Party candidate Kang Myung-sang received 2%, and the percentage of those with no preferred candidate or who withheld their response was 22%. Compared to the survey conducted a week ago, where Candidate Song Soon-ho received 44% and Candidate Kang Ki-yoon received 33%, the gap between the two candidates remains at a similar level outside the margin of error. We asked each candidate about their reasons for supporting them. Among supporters of Candidate Song Soon-ho, 34% cited "support for the current administration's state affairs" and 24% cited "candidate from the preferred party." In contrast, among supporters of Candidate Kang Ki-yoon, 30% cited "checking the current administration" and 23% cited "outstanding experience and ability." Regarding the likelihood of winning, Candidate Song Soon-ho stood at 43% and Candidate Kang Ki-yoon at 34%; this time, the gap between the two candidates, which was within the margin of error in the previous survey, has widened beyond the margin of error. Respondents were also asked about the strength of their support and whether they would continue to support their chosen candidate. 82% of Song Soon-ho's supporters said they would maintain their support, whereas only 73% of Kang Ki-yoon's supporters did so, indicating that Candidate Song's support is relatively stronger. Additionally, 68% of respondents who had no preferred candidate or withheld their answer stated that they would decide on their candidate before the vote, suggesting that their choice will influence the election results. Regarding the factors having the greatest influence on deciding which candidate to support for local councils, "campaign pledges and policies" ranked first at 36%, followed by "political party affiliation" at 27% and "character and reputation" at 15%. Regarding perceptions of the upcoming local elections, 48% believed that "the ruling party should be empowered to ensure the stability of the current administration," while 36% believed that "the opposition party should be empowered to keep the current administration in check." In evaluating the current administration's performance, 63% gave a positive response saying it was "doing well," while 27% gave a negative response saying it was "doing poorly." In terms of party support, the Democratic Party of Korea stood at 42%, the People Power Party at 29%, the Progressive Party and the Cho Kuk Innovation Party at 3% each, the New Reform Party at 2%, and unaffiliated voters at 20%.
