Toluca is known as a center of industry and administration rather than a tourist destination. I visited this place because I wanted to capture the daily lives of the locals up close, rather than just seeing flashy landmarks. As expected, there were hardly any tourists or foreigners. Some people were curious to see me as a Korean and struck up conversations first; many others asked to take photos together or greeted me warmly. What impressed me most was the warm hearts of the residents of Toluca, who willingly stepped forward to help whenever I had questions or needed assistance. I was deeply moved throughout the trip. Coincidentally, the day I visited was the day the World Cup Round of 16 match between Mexico and England was taking place. Although Mexico unfortunately lost, I think I will remember for a long time the passionate cheering that filled the city and the people who warmly welcomed me, a Korean, even in that moment!
