When choosing a weightlifting belt, pay attention to its width at the back. It should be 10-12 cm. There are wide belts, 15 and even 20 cm wide. It's best to avoid them. The problem is that our lower back has a natural arch (lordosis). A very wide belt will dig into the edges of your back but provide little support in the center (the arch creates a gap). 2. Weightlifting or weightlifting belts. These belts are always wider in the back than in the front. The width recommendations are the same as above. These belts are made of leather or faux leather. I recommend leather. Faux leather belts don't last long. They become rough over time from sweat and simply break laterally. These belts are stiffer and are suitable for those who want to lift heavier weights. Belts are available with and without soft back padding. Both options are equally effective, but the padded ones are slightly more comfortable. 3. Powerlifting belts. These belts are always equally wide in the front and back. They are very thick (10-15 mm) and rigid. They are made of several layers of leather or faux leather.
