He is the founder of Laparoscopy Mashinani, an organization that was started in 2018 with the aim of bringing affordable surgical services to rural communities in Kenya. Dr. Joe has been accorded a Presidential award for his selfless contribution to women's health, especially in the rural areas through his Laparoscopy Mashinani initiative.
