WALKS IN WILTSHIRE at OGBOURNE ST ANDREW (4K)

In this episode of my series “Walks in Wiltshire”, I take a 5 mile circular walk from the village of Ogbourne St Andrew which is located 2 miles North of Marlborough & 9 miles South of Swindon. Once again I am accompanied by my Whippet, Logan. I parked my car by the church and started off with a wander through the village. After visiting the Church of St Andrew (which has a Bronze Age Barrow in the churchyard!) & passing by the Silks On The Downs pub, I crossed the River Og and made my way to the North of the village. I then followed a byway heading North to the little settlement of Southend at which point I crossed the A346 and made my way Eastwards – joining a section of the Ridgeway Long Distance Path. After crossing a disused railway line & a Roman Road, I joined a byway South to Bytham Farm – enjoying some stunning views along the way. I continued South to Poulton Downs at which point I joined another byway that took me Westwards back to Ogbourne St Andrew. My final destination was The Silks On The Downs pub, back in the village.
