I start in the village of Herbeumont, where I leave my car. From there I cycle upstream with my backpack and packraft to the town of Chiny. After inflating the packraft I follow the Semois River downstream for three days, resting along the riverbanks and slowly making my way back to Herbeumont. The Semois is one of the most beautiful rivers in the Ardennes, famous for its winding meanders, forested hills and quiet villages. Today the river is mostly used for canoeing, kayaking and packrafting. This is a calm ambient river journey with natural sounds, landscapes and occasional reflections about the river, its geography and history.
