The key to a shawl collar's success is precision! If you like to do everything meticulously and carefully, this collar will become your favorite 😉 💥 Be sure to mark the intersections of the seam allowances. 💥 Place the back and front panels together, matching the intersections as I show in the video. 💥 When sewing, don't skip past the matching points; this is very important. 💥 Before sewing the collar into the neckline, make notches ‼️ Check everything to the millimeter and reinforce the notches. Note that we only notch the front panel at a 45-degree angle. 💥 Overcast the shoulder seams. Be careful not to tug at the notches. Press the shoulder seams and back seam apart. 💥 Place the neckline and collar together and stitch, ensuring there are no creases or holes. Again, everything must be neat! 💥 Repeat the same steps with the facing and placket. 💥 After making the notches, cut corners on the neckline and placket to press the seam allowances apart. Watch the video carefully. 💥 Join the garment and facing, pin from the center outward, and stitch. 💥 Press the seam apart. Turn and baste the seam. You can choose between a folded or rolled seam. I use a folded seam. Don't forget to cut the seam allowances so the seam is even and doesn't ripple. 💥 Secure the seam edges at the shoulder and neckline. In the video, I use one of the possible methods—stitching. 💥 If there is no lining, now is the time to overcast the facing and facing and do the final ironing.
