The path is clear for a new political beginning. Impulses for greater growth are urgently needed. The new elections in February 2025 offer the opportunity to make Germany future-proof – provided the economy and society are ready for change. Proposals for tackling this change are on the table, for example, for reducing bureaucracy, tax reform, greater participation in the labor market, and shaping energy and climate policy. This needs to be linked to a vision for the future. Can narratives play a role in overcoming the forces of inertia? Which narrative would be suitable to help Germany emerge from the crisis? What might a vision for the future of prosperity in Germany look like?
