WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW - 24K Gold Music Shows - 60s Oldies Carole King The Shirelles COVER
Welcome to 24K Gold Music Shows! "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" is a song written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. It was originally recorded in 1960 by the Shirelles, who took their single to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is also notable for being the first song by a black all-girl group to reach number one in the United States. It has since been recorded by many artists over the years, including a 1971 version by co-writer Carole King. 24K Gold covers this classic oldie in the set we fondly called our "Romance Set", intro starting something like this: Songs in the 1950’s and 60’s era were a lot different than those in this modern day. Many were light-hearted, and some were just totally goofy, but they were fun! Kids danced to the likes of “The Purple People Eater”, “The Monster Mash”, “Wooly Bully”, “Kookie Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb”, and even “Love Potion Number Nine”. Romance in the 50’s and 60’s was different also; most young folks actually anticipated a marriage that would last. Therefore, the feelings of romance were often very innocent in comparison to this day and age.
