How NATIVE AMERICANS Crossed 3,000 Miles Without Compass or Roads

A macaw that only lives in tropical Mexico ended up buried a thousand miles north, at Chaco Canyon. No compass. No paved road. So how did it get there? This is the real story of how Native nations moved people, goods, and knowledge across a continent without a single metal instrument: memory maps drawn in sand, river systems read like signage, engineered roads radiating out of Chaco Canyon, trained long-distance runners relaying messages faster than a horse, and star charts that tracked both direction and season at once.
