MacKimmie Complex | Low Carbon Training Case Study Series (Part 1: ESG)

As part of the Canada Green Building Council’s Low Carbon Training Program, this video series explores the MacKimmie Complex at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta. Certified to the Zero Carbon Building Standard – Design v1 and LEED BD+C: New Construction v4, the MacKimmie Complex demonstrates how low-carbon building strategies can be successfully implemented in practice. The series follows the five core modules of the original Low Carbon Training Program, showcasing how these concepts were applied through the design, construction, and performance of the MacKimmie Complex project: Part 1 – Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Part 2 – Integrated Design Process (IDP) Part 3 – Operational Carbon Part 4 – Embodied Carbon Part 5 – Transition Planning About the Low Carbon Training Program The Low Carbon Training Program was developed to provide the critical knowledge and skills needed to meet increasing demand for low-carbon new construction and building retrofits. The Low Carbon Training Program helped almost 4,000 people gain the training needed to advance their careers.
