Baringo venom Part 1

In Baringo North's scenic Kerio Valley, lie deadly snakes drawn out of their hiding places by the dry spell. As if dealing with water shortage is not bad enough, the residents live in fear of the serpents that have made life a mixture of deaths, amputations and the concoction of emotions that come with them. Every other day such cases are reported to the medical personnel who make frantic efforts to save survivors. Some succumb to their injuries while others end up having their limbs amputated. The efforts to prevent deaths from snake bites in this area are stung by the realities of insufficient anti-venom at the medical facilities plus victims' failure to seek treatment in good time because of poor infrastructure.
