And, because of this objectivity, it has the characteristic of giving the impression that the speaker is avoiding responsibilty for the judgement. Conjecture: An opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information. These three below express the speaker's subjective conjecture or judgement. 明日(あした)雨(あめ)が 降(ふ)るでしょう。 明日(あした)雨(あめ)が 降(ふ)るかもしれません。 明日(あした)雨(あめ)が 降(ふ)るとおもいます。 子供(こども)はもう寝(ね)たでしょう。。 Probably the child has already slept. 子供(こども)はもう寝(ね)た とおもいます。 I think the child has slept. 子供(こども)はもう 寝(ね)たらしいです。 (しずかになりましたから。) It seems like the child has already slept. (Because it has become quiet) うわさによると、 田中(たなか)さんは来年(らいねん) 結婚(けっこん)するらしいです。
