PM Modi to Inaugurate Bhogapuram International Airport

North Andhra Pradesh is set for a major transformation with the inauguration of the Bhogapuram International Airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the ₹4,592-crore airport to the nation on August 1, marking a significant milestone in the region's infrastructure development. Spread across 2,203 acres, the airport features a 3,800-metre Code E runway, advanced Air Traffic Control systems, cargo facilities, solar power infrastructure, and eco-friendly zero liquid discharge technology. The first phase will handle 6 million passengers annually, with plans to expand capacity to 40 million passengers in the future. Strategically located to serve Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam, the airport is expected to boost tourism, trade, investment, cargo operations, and aviation-related industries, including MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) facilities and an aviation university.
