NEW SLEEK Mitsubishi DOAS Traction Elevator - Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, CA.

This video is dedicated to ‪@DYelevators‬ as he celebrates his birthday today! Happy birthday Darren! Today is the moment of truth! The modernization for the first car, which is now car F, is FINALLY finished! It has been very slow, taking over a year. That's how you know Mitsubishi ensures that quality is shown just like how the old elevators are. Comparing this to the modernization of the elevators at the Palace Hotel (as the elevators are also being modded by Mitsubishi), this was still in progress while they hadn't even started the work at the Palace Hotel. The elevator car for this hotel was completed around the same time as the Palace Hotel one. I'd say completing the entire bank will take around 4-5 years. Anyways, here we take a first look at the brand new cabs that the rest of the elevator cars will get! I thought they were gonna do a hybrid system before a full conversion to destination dispatch, but instead one new car is operating independently until the second car is finished. It is very nicely done, but still doesn't beat the authentic style cabs in the old cars and that low height COP. The doors are incredibly smooth too! They close and open quickly without any rattling even any noise at all. It's interesting how they labeled Lobby as floor 0, and they still have the nonexisting floor 4 displayed as a ghost floor. The new DOAS panels are pretty responsive, although I dislike the unpleasant handicapped voice used. This car runs very smoothly without any shaking as it regularly races up 25 floors. However, it would be nice if they match the style of the cab doors with the hoistway doors instead of just finishing it with stainless steel. It will also cool if the COP had a metallic gray finish then the cab would really match the overall aesthetics of the hotel. Overall, this is a really great mod!
