Ollie finds Clark in a Russian work camp without his powers. Take note of the name Ollie claims when asked who he is. Roy Connor is a combination of the names of two people very close to Ollie in the comics... Roy Harper was once his sidekick Speedy, then later became Arsenal and was a continued member of the Titans, and he would eventually take the name Red Arrow when he joined the JLA... and Connor Hawk is Ollie's son, and he took the mantle of Green Arrow in the 90's while Ollie was dead... both men are viewed as sons to him, though only one really is, and both do, indeed, see him as a father.
