I was NOT ACCEPTED into the KHI Train Commemorative Ride. 😔 (Farewell, SMRT KHI! C151 089/090)

Special thanks to ‪@ahboi_trains201‬, one of the lucky FOS members to have gotten a slot in this event, for dumping some of his unwanted clips whilst onboard 089/090, to me! [0:00] Introduction 0849hrs to 1021hrs After registering as a member of the "Friends of SMRT" (FOS) since the R151 825/826 debut, I received an invitation from FOS on 27 August 2025. However, it was in my spam folder in the email! A friend only notified us an hour or two later on that same day but by the time we signed up for it, all 100 slots were taken up already, hence we did not get any email of acceptance into this event, on the 28th September 2025, Sunday. 😭 [2:19] KHI C151 arrives at Ang Mo Kio 1038hrs to 1047hrs For those that were part of the event, they experienced riding a Do Not Board (DNB) train, passing by the legacy stations of the North-South Line without opening its doors before ending back at NS16 Ang Mo Kio again. Personally, would've been more satisfied if they also held an SIE C651 or KNS C751B Train Commemorative Ride, unfortunately they were scrapped much earlier than these KHI C151s. 😢 [5:56] Clips of the KHI C151's final journey 1050hrs to 1057hrs Yes, I was stupid enough to try chasing down 089/090 by taking the trains right behind it. Little did I know, it turned around really quickly at Toa Payoh siding (not filmed in this video). In fact it was way ahead of schedule. [11:28] The KHI C151's Final Departure 1112hrs to 1114hrs I was close to narrowly missing its very last departure, as I alighted from the Northbound train behind it, C151B 645/646. Therefore I sincerely apologise for the worst decision I had ever made. I felt that a more feasible plan would've been to deploy all of the other remaining 3 KHI sets in Bishan Depot (BSD) out to the NSL for one last time on Unscheduled Slots (not affecting the other already running trains), i.e. • 005/006 • 105/106 • 129/130 and let the enthusiast crowd disperse across the different trains, while 089/090 has its own private one, since the other 3 sets were still in rather decent conditions too... — yeah THAT NEVER happened.
