This series will continue with an AAM overview, and will cover the agency’s near-term implementation plan, the notice of proposed rulemaking on powered-lift, and the FAA partnership with the U.S. Air Force on testing and evaluating Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technologies. Many AAM operators intend to use existing infrastructure for initial operations, as well as new purpose-built infrastructure. As operators explore those options, we will address questions about the locations, design, and operation of AAM landing and take-off sites, more commonly referred to as vertiports, as well as the equipment and facilities needed to support those operations.
