Favorite Monte Sano Downhill Bike Trails

This video covers some of my favorite downhill mountain biking trails on Monte Sano (both inside and outside the state park). This video covers the downhill North Plateau Loop/Cold Springs Trail, Bankhead Trail, and Bluffline Trails as well as riding up to the top of the mountain on the Dummy Line Trail and the old/closed Bankhead Parkway NE road. I (Jacob) rode these alone while trying to maintain social distancing in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. I started by parking at the Land Trust of North Alabama parking lot, which is part-way up the side of Monte Sano, and riding the Dummy Line trail and the old/closed Bankhead Parkway NE road to the top of the mountain. I then rode the North Plateau trail until it connects with the Cold Springs trail. Cold Springs is a steep, rocky, wet and dangerous trail that quickly drops back down to the Bankhead Parkway NE road. I then used that to connect to the Bankhead Trail which I took back down to the Land Trust Parking lot. After returning to the top of the mountain, I road streets outside the state park over to the mountain top trailhead for the Bluffline Trail, which is in the Land Trust's Monte Sano Preserve. The Bluffline is a very rocky but fun trail that winds along the side of Monte Sano and eventually returns again to the Land Trust parking lot.
