81 hearts have been saved in the last 3 years through complex interventions carried out by multidisciplinary teams of Romanian doctors and international specialists. In Romania, between 1,200 and 1,500 children with congenital heart defects are born annually, but only half of them benefit from timely surgical interventions in the state medical system. For many of them, rapid access to treatment represents the difference between life and death. This event highlights the vital impact of medical missions and the importance of collaboration between the medical community and civil society in supporting pediatric cardiovascular surgery.
