Tokachi 10 Days | HOKKAIDO DAYS 2026 | Vanlife in Japan

Another 10 days of everyday life in Hokkaido. This chapter takes place mostly in Tokachi, while working remotely from my camper van and spending slow days around Otofuke, Obihiro, Honbetsu, Ikeda, Urahoro, Hiroo, and Taiki. I visited roadside stations, old railway stations, Lake Onneto, Ainu Kotan near Lake Akan, Obihiro Racecourse, Rokkatei, Ikeda Wine Castle, the Harunire Tree, Kombukariishi Viewpoint, and Bansei Onsen. There were quiet workdays, local lunches, sweets from small shops, a birthday lunch at Rokkatei, Banei horse racing, sea fog, hot springs, supermarkets, and simple meals in the van. Some days were cloudy. Some views were hidden by fog. But the road kept going. Nothing dramatic. Just another 10 days of vanlife in Hokkaido.
