Episode 9-2022 Candid Conversations With Rennu Dhillon, a Building Women Empowered Initiative, Empowering Women Everywhere, focuses on showcasing progressive women who are making a difference every day. Real life stories, where our guests will motivate and inspire women everywhere that anything is possible. This week we celebrate Reena Malhotra Chopra, a celebrity artist and celebrity mom. Reena Chopra is a self taught artist and a popular writer/ blogger. She was born in Singapore, raised in Kenya and currently lives in India after getting married to a businessman, Pawan Chopra, who hails from a decorated Army family. His business entails supplies of Military Vehicles spares and general items for their Enormous Ordinance depots and is a talented singer. She is blessed with 3 children…the eldest is Parineeti Chopra is a Bollywood film actress who passed out from Manchester Business school with a triple Honours degree and is also a trained Hindi Classical Vocalist. The second child is Sahaj who is an entrepreneur in the F&B industry and the youngest, Shivang is a doctor who is also a trained Hindi Classical Vocalist. Reena studied in Loreto Convent Mombasa, Agakhan Kenya Secondary School Mombasa and then in St. Marys school Nairobi before leaving for New Delhi to pursue Architectural Apprenticeship before marriage and a Bachelor Degree in IT and Management after marriage. She hailed from a very diverse climate from the one which she married into and these differences in culture and thought processes defined her journey till today in India . At the encouragement of her children, she took up painting at a mature age and has now made it a serious getaway from the travails of daily life. The influences for her art range from her vast exposure to different cultures, cities, dreams and art forms as she is widely travelled, and is a staunch supporter of Women Empowerment. Many of her artworks depict the yearning and struggles of every girl who aspires to be someone but has met adversity of every form from society. She dabbles in oils and acrylics but enjoys the transparency of watercolors also . She has a varied portfolio of themes with non-conformity to any particular style as for her , her paintings are an outpour of emotions and a challenge to try something new every time and test herself. She has sold her artworks in India, China, Kenya, Paris, USA, Amsterdam, France, England, Dubai, Canada, UK and Bangladesh and has exhibited her artwork in several exhibition in India and abroad.
