@TURBEDELISI Hazrat Nazmi Geylani is the son and successor of Hazrat Mehmed Sadeddin Geylani. His mother was Fahriye Hanım. Because his mother was a descendant of Hazrat Hussein and his father was a descendant of Hazrat Hasan, Hazrat Hussein Nazmi Geylani is both a Sharif and a Sayyid. Therefore, he is known as ‘al-Hasani wal-Husseini’. Those who loved him called him ‘Ceylan Baba’, ‘Nazmi Baba’, ‘Shifa Baba’, and ‘Hu Baba’. Hazrat Hussein Nazmi Geylani was born in 1887. Because his identity card states 1896, some sources give his birth year as 1896. He memorized the Quran before he turned seven. He was a hafiz (Quran memorizer) of Zekaizade Hafiz Ahmed İlhami (Irsoy) Efendi. He grew up in a Sufi lodge environment, learned religious and mystical knowledge there, and received dervish training through experience. He graduated from Eyüp High School and Secondary School. While pursuing his higher education at the School of Law, he was forced to interrupt his studies due to the occupation of Istanbul. He received his certificate of authorization from his father when he was only 17 years old. Nazmi Ceylani began serving as a sheikh at a young age. While his father was still alive, but when he was ill or in Edirne, he acted as his deputy at the lodge. He served as sheikh at the Kaşgari Lodge after Sheikh Baha Efendi and at the Sheikh Murad Buhari Lodge for a period of time, acting as deputy for Abdülkadir Belhi when he was unable to attend. He became a master of the Fatiha (the opening chapter of the Quran) while still a young man.
