Fishing for Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna in Levanto, Italy

Despite growing up in California and fishing for over 35 years, I am ashamed to say that I had never caught a bluefin tuna. I had always heard about the monster tuna being caught just off the California coast during the summer but never had any luck catching them on my own boat. I also knew that similarly large bluefin were fairly prosperous in the Mediterranean so when I was back in Italy I knew I just had to charter a boat to give it a go.
