🌱 Evening Descending Mercy - Śrī Guru’s Lotus Feet — The Shelter That Keeps the Soul Untouched - Jun 29 2026 🌸 Śrī Guru’s Lotus Feet — The Shield That Keeps the Heart Untouched One who holds the lotus feet of Śrī Guru with full attention and surrender — By the mercy of Śrī Guru, one attains Kṛṣṇa. The words flowing from the lotus mouth of Śrī Guru become the very life of the disciple. The disciple prays: “Let these words always remain within my heart. Nothing else matters to me. I belong to you. Please guide me and engage me as your instrument.” This is the true meaning of surrender. The words from the lotus mouth of Śrī Guru become a divine protective covering. Because of this covering, the disciple remains untouched by the influences of the external world. Otherwise, what strength does the conditioned soul have to remain untouched in this muddy ocean of material existence? Only the shelter of Śrī Guru protects the jīva. 🌸 “Guru-mukha-padma-vākya, cittete kariyā aikya…” “Let the words from the lotus mouth of Śrī Guru become one with my heart.” When this happens, the disciple reaches the highest destination. By the mercy of Śrī Guru, all other desires disappear. 🌸 “Cakṣu-dāna dilo yei, janme janme prabhu sei…” Śrī Guru gives the real vision. He gives divine knowledge that illuminates the heart. Where there is prema-bhakti, all ignorance and suffering disappear. The glories of the Lord become revealed. 🌸 Śrī Guru is an ocean of mercy, the friend of the fallen souls. He is the well-wisher of everyone. O Gurudeva, please be merciful and place me at Your lotus feet. Śrīla Prabhupāda, the deliverer of the fallen souls, I take shelter in you. 🙏 All glories to Śrī Guru. All glories to the devotees of the Lord. 🌸 The Dust of the Vaiṣṇavas’ Lotus Feet The Vaiṣṇavas are like desire-fulfilling trees. They are very dear to Kṛṣṇa. By bowing down to the Vaiṣṇavas, taking the dust from their lotus feet, placing it upon our head, and joyfully dancing in their service — we receive the mercy to enter devotion. But how can this happen without the protective covering of mercy? Śrī Guru gives the disciple this covering: Kṛṣṇa… Kṛṣṇa… Kṛṣṇa… A covering of remembrance, service, and love for Kṛṣṇa. With this shelter, the disciple remains untouched by the muddy waters of material existence. Because: 🌸 “Dhana mora Nityānanda, pati mora Gauracandra…” “My wealth is Nityānanda. My Lord is Gauracandra.” And only then: “Prāṇa mora yugala-kiśora.” “The Divine Couple of Vraja becomes my very life.” 🌸 “Vṛndāyai Tulasī-devyai priyāyai Keśavasya ca…” The devotees are brought into the land of divine love — Vṛndāvana. Not because we understand Bhagavān by our own strength, but because Śrī Guru gives us the qualification. He gives us the protective covering of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. He places us at the lotus feet of Śrī Gaurāṅga. He awakens love for Kṛṣṇa. Then we are brought into the service of: Yugala Kiśora — Śrī Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. The devotees of Vṛndāvana pray: “O Lord, please accept me. Fulfill this desire — let me reside in Vṛndāvana, in loving service.” Through the mercy of Śrī Guru, the disciple receives the qualification for service. The disciple becomes engaged in loving service under the guidance of the devotees. This is how a surrendered soul remains untouched by the mud of this world: not by avoiding action, but by being completely absorbed in loving service. 🙏🙏
