This time, the fifth wild journey of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Governor Dmitry Artyukhov led him to the Purovsky District, a land where the large-scale industrial development of Yamal was among the first to begin. But even alongside the roads, machinery, and oil fields, the most important things remain: the tundra way of life, the memory of one's kin, and the people who know how to live in harmony with the North. The film centers on the Agichev family of reindeer herders. And Liliya Kantlevna—a woman who is approaching seventy, but in whom the strength of the entire tundra still resonates. Many years ago, she was widowed and left alone with three sons. She took on the hard work usually considered a man's job—and persevered. She raised her children, kept her family together, and passed on what is essential to life in the tundra: patience, dignity, and loyalty to one's land. Today, her grandchildren are by her side. And in her arms is her great-granddaughter, a small extension of her extended family. And this simple frame, perhaps, contains the entire meaning of the film: past, present, and future, connected not by grandiose words, but by life itself—by the hearth, by the tent, next to the herd. This life is changing. Next to the traditional tent stands a mobile home. Snowmobiles roam the tundra. Drones help track the reindeer from above. But technology here doesn't supplant tradition; it merely makes nomadic life a little easier. The most important things remain unchanged: family, work, the road, and connection to the land. The film's core is choice. Today, young tundra dwellers truly have a choice: continue the path of their ancestors, trudging across the endless tundra, or move to the city for education, a profession, and a different destiny. And there's no single right answer in this story. There are opportunities offered by the region. There's the voice of family. There's the call of the tundra. And every person has the right to decide for themselves where their place lies. "Tundra. Horizons" is a film about a strong woman, a large family, and Yamal, where tradition doesn't conflict with the future.
