Apple recently announced prices hikes for some of their MacBook laptops and some of their iPads. Xbox also announced price hikes for some of their consoles. Both companies said that these price hikes are the direct result of the increased prices of memory and RAM components. Memory and RAM components are facing such high demand and low supply due to AI companies like OpenAI needing such enormous quantities to power their AI data centers. As a result, consumer electronics have no choice but to increase in price, as consumer electronics do not take priority over AI data centers for the memory makers and suppliers.
