The Medieval Pope Who Worshipped the Devil

A pope sat on his throne in full robes and waited for the soldiers coming up the stairs to kill him. That was Boniface VIII, and the men who hated him swore he kept a demon in his ring and sacrificed animals to it in the dark. This video follows how a sharp young lawyer climbed to the top of the Church, locked a saint in a tower to die, plowed a whole city into salt, and then got branded a devil worshipper by a king who wanted him destroyed. How much was true is the strange part.
