The general meeting of the Murshidabad Zilla Parishad was held on Saturday, attended by Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Rubia Sultana, Members of Parliament Abu Taher Khan and Khalilur Rahaman, Berhampore MLA Subrata Maitra, Jangipur MLA Chitta Mukherjee, Beldanga MLA Sukhen Bagdi, Domkal MLA Mostafizur Rahaman, along with several opposition legislators. During the meeting, Sabhadhipati Rubia Sultana responded to allegations of corruption involving the Zilla Parishad and outlined the administration's position on the issue. The condition of the Rabindranath Tagore Diagnostic Centre, located in Berhampore and operated under the Murshidabad Zilla Parishad, also came under discussion. The facility has remained closed for a long period. Concerns were also raised over the deteriorating condition of MCET College. MLAs and other public representatives strongly urged the authorities to take immediate steps to revive both MCET College and the Rabindranath Tagore Diagnostic Centre.
