Debartolo, this mall was shaped in his image as the crown jewel of the American shopping experience. Once featuring waterfalls, palm trees, and wood paneling galore, over the years Lafayette Square was stripped of its identity and left to rot. Crime, and the decline of retail along with poor timing leaves this mall where it is today.. A dingy discount haven of second hand stores..
