Heat, drought, blazing sun, and improper care quickly turn your green carpet into a sad, straw-like mat. And then you're standing there with the garden hose in your hand, wondering: "Was that care or active euthanasia for the grass?" 😄 The most important rule: Don't mow too short in summer. A slightly longer blade protects the soil from the sun, retains moisture longer, and helps the roots better withstand the heat. Many people also make a huge mistake when watering: A little water every evening does almost nothing. The lawn only develops shallow roots and becomes even more vulnerable in the heat. It's best to water thoroughly once or twice a week – ideally early in the morning when the soil is cool and the water can really reach the roots. And when it comes to fertilizing: In the height of summer, your lawn doesn't need a blind growth boost, but rather resilience. Potassium helps the lawn better withstand heat and drought.
